Contemporary Klein
You will learn about Melanie Klein’s revolutionary and sometimes controversial developments in psychoanalytic thought, gained through her observation of infants, and how they are applied in clinical practice today.
We will guide you through the key ideas such as Object Relations, Splitting and the Paranoid/Schizoid positions through the study of contemporary authors. and how they are applied in practice today, with plenty of space for discussion. The group with be held by Sue Gottlieb, an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist and member of SIP.

Course Structure: Starting 21st April 2026 on Tuesday evenings, 18:00 – 20:00, over 1 x 10 week terms.

Entry Requirements: An understanding of Freudian/psychoanalytic theory is required as we will build on those foundations.
